Our owners Whitney and Kevin met and discovered their love of Kava in Asheville North Carolina. Whitney owned a successful restaurant in Asheville and upon returning to her native home of Tucson she decided to bring the beautiful culture of kava with her and open Tucson’s very first Kava Bar! With her restaurant skills and Kevin's knowledge of being a lifetime bartender, they hand-crafted our entire menu to bring a familiar sense of the cocktail experience to a new, natural, and exciting venture. Since The Kava Bar’s inception, they have grown from one store and a staff of two, to two locations and a wonderful dedicated team of employees that all foster the positive and inclusive environment that they had envisioned.

 

When not on the job Kevin and Whitney have three young boys that keep them active at home. An active lifestyle has been a major part of their lives for years and both Kevin and Whitney have extensive backgrounds in martial arts and lifting as competitors. As parents and athletes, they understand the need for a healthy alternative to stress relief and pain management. The Kava Bar aims to offer a remedy for those things that reside within a beautiful and supportive community for any and all kava lovers.
